Our new gin is as Canberra as it gets – a fun and summery collaboration between POP Canberra and Underground Spirits – our juicy new POP Canberra x Underground Sweet Sun Soaked Gin.
Created to capture nostalgic, golden sun-soaked Canberra days and perfectly warm, gentle summer evenings, this gin is sweet, bold, bright and fun, reminiscent of late nights at the POP Canberra pop-up in the early years.
This gin is Canberra in a bottle – our Distiller created a flavour profile to really capture a fun take on the essence of Canberra. The sweet juicy flavours of mango bubble tea are a reference to the ‘Canberra Bubble’; the herbaceous notes of bay leaf are a nod to Canberrans’ second home, Batemans (the) Bay; an intriguing dash of native lime references the Canberra ‘lime’ in the nation’s capital’s NRL team the Canberra Raiders; and the bouquet of flowers, well, spring in Canberra of course!
“Working with the POP Canberra team on a gin was a piece of cake and a real joy! They curate and create such a gorgeous and delightful range of products – to work with them to fit an exclusive gin into their mix was a true delight. We have created a knockout gin that is flamboyantly Canberran,” said Underground Spirits’ Claudia Roughley.
