For the year ahead in 2026 we are proud to collaborate with Palliative Care ACT to create a very special gin in honour of their 40th anniversary. It is a milestone that recognises four decades of care, support and unwavering presence for individuals and families during some of life’s most transformative moments. And from the very first conversation, we knew this gin needed to carry meaning in every sip.
Why the Butterfly Matters
The butterfly has been part of Palliative Care ACT’s identity since their beginning. Their very first volunteer newsletter was called The Butterfly, chosen because it symbolised transformation, dignity and unexpected beauty, qualities that sit at the heart of palliative care. A diagnosis can change a family’s world in an instant, and the role of palliative care is to walk alongside that change with strength and compassion.
When they shared this with us, the creative direction became clear: this gin needed to embody transformation.
Crafting a Gin That Changes Before Your Eyes
We turned to blue butterfly pea flower, a botanical that naturally shifts from deep indigo to soft violet when citrus or tonic is added. It’s captivating, gentle, and symbolic of the changes Palliative Care ACT witnesses every day; families finding support, volunteers offering presence, and the steady comfort of services like Leo’s Place.
To this base, we added botanicals chosen not only for taste, but for meaning: lavender for peace, chamomile for comfort, lemon myrtle for care, citrus for uplift, and the classic juniper-led trio that grounds the spirit. The result is a gin that is beautiful to look at, soothing to sip and crafted with intention.
A Collaboration with Heart
What makes this release truly special is where it leads.
Every bottle purchased throughout the 40th anniversary year supports Palliative Care ACT’s volunteer program, community services and respite care; the essential, human-centred work that helps families feel held and supported when it matters most.
A Butterfly in a Bottle
This is not just a celebratory release. It is a tribute to transformation, to compassion, and to the quiet strength of those who sit beside others in their most vulnerable moments.
We’re incredibly proud to share this gin with the community and to stand alongside Palliative Care ACT as they mark this significant milestone.
Here’s to 40 years of care.
Here’s to the butterfly.
